The Marriage Palace was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/SGR/2021/15409138 dated 23/04/2021, and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/SGR/2021/15409103, dated 23/04/2021, both valid upto 01/08/2021 for<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>marriage palace of capacity 250 persons.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin: 0cm -1.35pt 6.0pt 0cm;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Now, the Marriage Palace has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 with requisite documents through OCMMS under orange category. The consent fee earlier deposited by the marriage palace on account of the Water Act, 1974 is adequate upto <strong>30/09/2023 </strong>as per Board's Office Order dated 09/01/2023 against the un-depreciated fixed assets of Rs. 94.30 Lacs. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-right: -.9pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 2;"> </span>The industry has submitted provisional CLU certificate letter issued by STP Patiala vide Memo No. 2478 STP(P)/ SP-327 dated 19/08/2019, wherein it has been mentioned that M/s Shagun Resorts, Dhuri Road Sangrur having area 0.5469 acres (Khasra nos. 29//24/2/1, 24/2/2, 25/2 Min, 38//4/3 Min) falls in the residential land use zone of notified master plan Sangrur. As per zoning regulations of master plan, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Sangrur, marriage palace is permissible in this land use zone.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm -.9pt 10.0pt 3.15pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>It is pertinent to mention here that the project proponent has not submitted approved building plan from the competent authority. In this regard, the project proponent has submitted a request letter mentioning that they have already submitted their file to PUDA for approval of building plans. However, the same is yet to approved by the authority. The marriage palace has assured that approved building plan will be submitted within three months. Moreover, the Hon'ble Chairman of the Board has decided in the Officer Meeting, which was held on 6/7/2017 at Head Office, Patiala that Marriage palaces may be granted conditional Consent to Operate in case building plan is not approved.</span></p>

Therefore, the lifting of solid waste does come under the jurisdiction of MC Sangrur. However, the plastic / re-recyclable waste is being lifted by natural scavenger system/Local rag pickers to channelized the same for recycling through local kabarias. The establishment has also made agreement with piggery farm for disposal of kitchen waste.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 32.85pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 4.5pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Therefore, keeping in view of above mentioned facts and submissions made by the project proponent, this office is of the opinion that the establishment may be granted renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 for a shorter period <strong>upto 31/5/2023</strong> <strong>being standalone marriage palace</strong> with usual conditions and special condition that:-</span></p>
