<p style="text-align: justify;">The record file has been checked and observed that the site of industry falls in Mix Land Use as per approved mater plan of Ludhiana. As per the present policy, the industry can be operated upto August, 2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry has submitted vide its letter while personal hearing before Chairman of the board through VC on 27.05.2021 mentioning that the industry has initiated the process of shift of mode of disposal from into sewer to onto land for plantation (Copy attached). </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">However, the industry is a dyeing unit and also discharging its effluent into MC sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">A meeting taken by Member Secretary of the Board to review the compliance of directions u/s 5 of EPA, 1986 issued by the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab vide order dated 10.10.2019 for segregation of industrial effluents discharged into municipal sewer of Ludhiana held on 13.07.2022, wherein it was decided that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> "All the water polluting industries (except garment washing and service stations) discharging their effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana shall take adequate steps to stop discharging their industrial effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana by 31.03.2023 and period of consent be reduced suitably to ensure compliance of the directions given by the Govt."</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> In view of above, it is recommended that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Advisory may be issued to the industry to operate its ETP properly & regularly to achieve the prescribed standards, failing which the Board may take strict action including imposition of Environmental Compensation and closure of the industry without any further notice.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2023 with suitable conditions and with special condition that the industry shall segregate its trade effluent from Municipal Sewer by 31.03.2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be issued for restoration of the electric supply of the industry upto 31.03.2023.</p>
