<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">It is intimated that the industry is medium scale red category unit. The industry is engaged in manufacturing of HHB Steel Wire @ 63.5 T/day, Shoe Nail @ 1.5 T/day with the help of pickling (H2SO4) and phosphating process. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH2/2021/14697623 dated 10/05/2021 valid upto 31/03/2024 and under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH2/2021/14697899 dated 30/03/2021 valid upto 31/03/2024 subject to the certain conditions mentioned therein. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Now, the industry has applied for varied of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite documents for manufacturing of product HHB Steel Wire @ 99 TPD, Shoe Nail @ 1 TPD. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has submitted that earlier it was operating on single shift, however now as per customer and market requirements, the industry has to add one more shift and as such the water consumption in the process has been augmented. There is no addition of polluting machinery. The production capacity and effluent generation has increase only on account of increase in shifts. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry generates two kinds of effluent i.e. effluent generated from phosphating and washing water after pickling process and one from spent acid after acid dip<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The effluent generation from washing process, which was earlier around 20 KLD on average has been enhanced to around 35 KLD on account of double shift. The industry has already installed ETP of 50 KLD capacity followed by RO system for which feasibility and completion report has already been submitted by the industry during the grant of earlier consent. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 2;"> </span>The industry has made enhanced agreement with M/s Keshav Chemicals Marketing Company, E-578, Focal Point, Phase -7, Ludhiana @ 1.25 Lacs Ltrs per month from earlier 50000 Ltr/month for lifting of spent acid generated from the pickling process(H2SO4).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The site of industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 28.01.2023 and it was observed as under :-</span></p>

The industry has installed ETP based on ZLD system for treatment of washing effluent and the industry has made agreement with M/s Keshav Chemicals Marketing Company, E-578, Focal Point, Phase -7, Ludhiana @ 1.25 Lacs Ltrs per month.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .75in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant based on MVR Technology for the treatment of waste water generated from phosphating/washing section consisting of collection tank 1 & 2 (parallel), chemical dosing, tube settler, pre-filtration tank, filter, ultra filtration feed tank, RO plant, forced evaporator. RO permeate is used back into process by the industry. RO reject is also used back in the rinsing process which is a crude process and RO reject is used in rinsing process after mixing with RO permeate. The industry has also provided one no. electrical forced evaporator for evaporation of RO reject (in case it is required).</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .75in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed pickling process and spent acid generated from the process is lifted by M/s Keshav Chemicals Marketing Company, E-578, Focal Point, Phase -7, Ludhiana, as the industry has enhanced agreement with above said agency from 50000 Ltr to 125000 Ltr/Month. The industry is maintaining record of water consumption viz-a-viz effluent lifted. The industry has got lifted 38700 and 35000 Ltr of spent acid lifted to the authorized re-processors in the month of December and January respectively. </span></p>

During visit record maintained by the industry was verified and it was observed that the industry has intake 404750 ltr of trade effluent from 01.01.2023 to 28.01.2023 and within this period, RO reject from the ETP was noted as 82750 ltr and 311500 ltr of effluent (RO product) was used back into the process. </span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .75in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">As per the water balance statement submitted by the industry, the effluent reaching the ETP shall be 35 KLD out of which 28 KLD (shall be RO permeate which will be utilized back in process and approx.. 7 KLD shall be RO reject which shall be used as washing water and for evaporation. The industry has not yet started working on increase in shifts as such the effluent generation is less.</span></p>

D.G. sets of capacities 320KVA, 320 KVA & 380 KVA and all are installed in the acoustic enclosure. </span></p>
