The details of the case are given in the note of AEE, which may kindly be perused. As reported by Regional Office, the industry is a red category large scale unit and engaged in the manufacture of Gamma Oryzanol / Food Supplement capsule) @ 800000 Numbers /Day and Gamma Oryzanol (Loose Powder) @ 0.4 Metric Tonnes/ Day by using Rice Bran Oil Soap Stock @ 15 Metric Tonnes/Day, Hexane@ 4000 ltr/day, Methanol @ 150 ltr/day, Sulphuric acid@ 800 ltr/day & Caustic lye @ 270 kg/day. The industry has installed one boiler of capacity 2 TPH and using pet coke/wood @ 3 TPD as fuel. It has installed cyclone separator followed by alkali scrubber as APCD with the said boiler. The industry has alos provided adequate stack height with the 3 no. DG sets.  Further, the process of the industry does not cover under EIA notification dated 14/09/2006.   In view of the facts mentioned above and recommendations given by Regional Office, if approved, varied consent to operate may be granted to the industry upto 31/03/2024 under Air Act, 1981 for manufacturing of Gamma Oryzanol / Food Supplement capsule) @ 800000 Numbers /Day and Gamma Oryzanol (Loose Powder) @ 0.4 Metric Tonnes/ Day by using Rice Bran Oil Soap Stock @ 15 Metric Tonnes/Day, Hexane@ 4000 ltr/day, Methanol @ 150 ltr/day, Sulphuric acid@ 800 ltr/day & Caustic lye @ 270 kg/day as raw material with suitable conditions and following specific conditions:   1.    The industry will operate & maintain its air pollution control device (APCD), regularly and efficiently, so as to achieve the stack emission standards, consistently as prescribed by the Board/ MoEF&CC as amended from time to time. 2.     The industry shall ensure that no black smoke should be emitted from the stack of the industry at any time. 3.    The industry will not carryout any activites, which covered under the ambit of EIA notification dated 14/09/2006. <span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-language: PA;">4.    The industry shall develop the vermicomposting/composting to manage the biodegradable solid waste. The industry shall not throw, burn or bury any solid wastes in open, outside premises or in drain / water bodies. <span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-language: PA;">5.    The industry shall promote use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic, through their Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activities. <span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-language: PA;">6.    The industry shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises.  <span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-language: PA;">7.    The industry shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.     (Competency : Worthy Chairman)
