<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">The unit was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide No. CTOW/Renewal/NWS/2020/14218792 dated 05.11.2020 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide No. CTOA/Renewal/NWS/2020/14218072 dated 05.11.2020 valid upto 31.03 for Hotel with 14 No. rooms, 2 no. restaurants, 1 no. bar & 2 no. banquet halls along with domestic effluent @ 17.5 KLD into M.C. sewer through Oil & Grease trap & septic tank, with conditions mentioned therein. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">Thereafter, the show cause notice was issued under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Hazardous<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>& Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 with an opportunity of personal hearing on 27.12.2022 before the Senior Environmental Engineer, wherein it was decided that:</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 18.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo5;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">The hotel shall apply for renewal of consent to operate under the Water<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Act, 1974, Air act, 1981 and authorization under Hazardous & other Wastes (Management & Transboundry Movement) Rules 2016 through OCMMS within 07 days.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 18.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo5;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Hoshiarpur<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>shall verify whether the effluent from STP Nawanshahar is fully treated or some effluent is being byepassed, comment on the requirement of STP, verify the arrangements made by the hotel for Solid Waste Management unit at Focal Point, Nawanshahar collect effluent samples and submit the detailed report in the matter within 15 days.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">Now, <span style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">the hotel has applied for consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The hotel has submitted CA certificate, compliance of earlier granted consents. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">The hotel has deposited Rs. 36000/- vide UTR No. N113221928626359 dated 23.04.2022 under Water Act and Rs. 36000/- vide UTR No. N114221929143232 dated 24.04.2022 under Air Act.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has also deposited Rs. 22500/-<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>each Act through Net Banking.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.09.2027.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The hotel was visited by the undersigned on 23.01.2023 and it was observed as under:</span></p>

The representative of unit informed that the occupancy of hotel rooms is about 30-40 % now a days.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>

Water meter is provided at the outlet of the STP and the reading of the same was noted as 3456 KL and separate energy meter is provided and the reading of the same was noted as 4536 KWh.</span></p>

The emission control system is provided discharge of emissions and the suction of emissions through ducting is provided.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><strong><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">Hazardous Waste Management:</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">The solid waste is sent to the dump site through MC, Nawanshahr vehicles.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The representative of the hotel submitted that they have land in the Focal Point area where the compost pits have been constructed for the disposal of bio-degradable. The plastic waste (bottles) are lifted by the kabadias. No SUP items was found in the premises of the hotel. </span></p>
