<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry is small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981, both valid upto 30/06/2022 for production of cycle free wheel @ 5000 Numbers/day and for discharge of trade effluent @ 01 KLM lifted to CETP i.e. M/s JBR Technologies Limited and domestic effluent @ 0.8 KLD into sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry falls in approved Focal Point. The industry has applied renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry has deposited consents fee, which is adequate upto 30.06.2024 under both Acts. There is nominally increased of Rs. 3.0 Lacs in plant and machinery of the industry from the last CA certificate submitted.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Accordingly, the industry was visited by officer of RO on 17.01.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation and is engaged in manufacturing of cycle wheels parts and also having pickling process and uses HCL for pickling.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has made an agreement with CETP operator i.e. M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Focal Point, Phase-8, Ludhiana for lifting of effluent @ 1000 Liter/Month generated from the process.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 03 barrels for pickling process.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has provided water meter on the source of fresh water supply & reading was noted to be 192.72 KL.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has provided storage tank of capacity approximately 1500 Liter and approximately 1000 Ltr effluent was present in the storage tank.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->Domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7. <!--[endif]-->The industry has provided separate register and is maintaining the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->8. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 02 diesel fired furnaces and 01 coloring bhathi in its premises.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->9. <!--[endif]-->The industry has also installed 02 rotary furnaces. During visit 01 rotary furnace was found to be in operational condition and other rotary furnace was found not in operational condition.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->10. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one DG set of 125 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->11. <!--[endif]-->The industry is complying with conditions previous consent granted to it.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The water balance reported by Regional Office from 01.07.2022 to 17.01.2023 stating that the industry has utilized water + acid @ 6.2 KL and disposed off effluent to M/s JBR @ 6 KL and 1 KL has been stored in the tank. The trade effluent generation is 88% of the fresh water consumption. However, the trade effluent generation is 110% from the fresh water consumption as per the report.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The trade effluent generation is more than the fresh water & acid consumption, as such, the industry is manipulating the record.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2024 with suitable conditions.</p>
