<p class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry was earlier granted "Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH1/2022/17122570 dated 07.01.2022 valid upto 31.03.2023 and vide no. CTOA/Varied/LDH1/2022/17122517 dated 07.01.2022 valid upto 31.03.2023 for production of Cotton yarn/Polyester Cotton @ 115 Metric Tonnes/Day by using Cotton/Polyester Cotton @ 115 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material and generating Domestic Effluent @ 545.0 KLD.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> Now, the industry has applied for renewal ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 along with requisite documents and fee.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> The industry was visited officer of this office on 02.02.2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry is a spinning mill and was in operation during visit.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">There is no source of trade effluent generation & only domestic effluent is being generated which is discharged onto land for plantation after Sewage Treatment Plant.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has installed 03 STPs comprising of 300 KL, 150 KL and 150 KL capacity each. 01 STP of capacity 300 KL comprises of the collection tank, Aeration Tank, settling tank and filtration unit & 02 STP’s of capacity 150 KL each comprises of collection tank, Aeration Tank, filtration unit and final outlet. The outlet of these three STPs are common and treated effluent samples were collected during visit and sent to Zonal Lab for analysis, result awaited. During the visit, MLSS in all the aeration tank was found very low. Further, the color of the treated effluent collected from common outlet was completely blackish, which shows inefficient operation of STPs.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">As per the record of the industry, average generation of treated effluent is 600 KL. The industry has already developed approx. 08 Acre land as per Karnal Technology for disposal of its domestic effluent after treatment.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has installed 12 D.G. sets of capacity 1500 KVA & 08 DG sets of capacity 1250 KVA with canopies & adequate stack height.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0.25in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> In view of above, it is recommended that:-</span></p>
