<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 8.2pt 17.1pt .0001pt 0cm;">The brick kiln was earlier granted consent under Air Act, 1981 valid upto 31.03.2019. Thereafter, Component Authority of the Board issued directions u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 vide letter no. 2492 dated 22.08.2022 for disconnection of its electric connection to the PSPCL authorities. Also the Board issued directions u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 vide letter no. 2489 dated 22.08.2022 for suspension of its brick kiln license to the DFSC, Jalandhar.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 8.2pt 17.1pt .0001pt 0cm;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now, the BKO has applied for consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. Regional Office has reported that the PSPCL has disconnected the electric connection vide disconnection on dated 26.08.2022 with final reading on meter as 18073 kwh.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The DFSC, Kapurthala has revoked the license of the BKO vide letter no. 80 dated 12.01.2023.The brick kiln has submitted completion certificate from PSCST, Chandigarh<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>vide no. TFD/452 dated 20.09.2020 in which it has been stated that the subject cited brick kiln has constructed induced draft brick kiln with zig-zag firing as per the technology evolved by the PSCST, Chandigarh. The brick kiln has provided septic tanks for domestic effluent.The brick kiln has been operative for Nine months without conversion from Year,2019 to Year,2022 as per the detail submitted by the brick kiln from its Coal register which has been certified by the CA. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Brick<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>kiln has submitted adequate amount of EC of Rs 1,80,000/- vide R no.94/5444 dated 17.01.2023 into the Board's account.The length of the central island of the brick kiln is 216 feet which is less than 245 feet. Therefore, the compliance of decision of meeting held on 22.10.2019 to deliberate the issue regarding regulations of length of central island of Brick kiln issued vide letter no. 12937 dated 07.06.2021 is not applicable to subject cited to Brick kiln and it can be granted full time consent.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 8.2pt 17.1pt .0001pt 0cm;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>As such, Regional Office may be asked to decide the consent applications as the competency lies with Environmental Engineer Regional Office and further recommend for restoration of electric connection/ license please.</p> |
