The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>vide no. CTOW/Varied/HSP/2022/17451347 dated 02.02.2022 valid upto 31.03.2023 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/HSP/2022/17451195 dated 02.02.2022 valid upto 31.03.2023 with conditions mentioned therein. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: -.25in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white; mso-bidi-language: PA;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981. The industry has deposited Rs. 168000/- vide UTR no. 773010045 dated 19.01.2023 under Air Act, 1981, Rs. 168000/- UTR no. 910383604 dated 19.01.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and NOC regularization of Rs. 10800/- vide UTR No. 469004338 dated 27.01.2023, which is adequate upto 31.03.2025 under both Acts. The industry has filled online application form, uploaded latest CA certificate, compliance report of earlier granted consents. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: -.25in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white; mso-bidi-language: PA;">Earlier, the industry was visited by officers of the Board on 08.06.2022 and during visit effluent samples was collected, as per analysis report received from Zonal Office, Lab, Jalandhar vide no. 1853-55 dated 23.06.2022 is pH-7.5, COD- 64 mg/l, BOD- 15 mg/l, TSS – 33 mg/l, TDS – 1104 mg/l & O & G – BDL, the concentration of all the parameters is within the limits.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: -.25in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The main source of generation of trade effluent is from washing of cylinders. The industry has replaced old carousel with new high speed (fully automated) carousel to increase cylinder handling without manual intervention, installation of telescopic conveyor of unloading cylinder to increase cylinder handling with enhanced safety in operation, Installation of new auto cap hammering unit to increase cylinder handling without manual intervention, replacement of old chain drive unit with new high speed helical drive units to increase chain conveyor speed.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: -.25in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The industry was visited by officer of this office on 07.02.2023 and observed that the industry was in operation and ETP installed by the industry was also in operation. The industry has installed ETP comprising of collection –cum- equalization tank, chemical dosing –cum- reaction & settling tank- pre filtration tank – MGF & ACF. During visit, there was no flow of effluent at its outlet, hence the sample could not be collected. The industry is spraying water with the help of tanker for suppression of dust particle emissions on the roads due to movement of vehicles. The industry has provided a paint booth with water scrubbing system which is attached with the stack of adequate height. The industry has installed 02 no. DG Sets of capacity 750 KVA and 125 KVA with acoustic enclousers. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: -.25in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white; mso-bidi-language: PA;">In view of above, if approved, it may be recommended to PBIP that varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2024 with suitable & terms conditions with special conditions that the industry shall submit the effluent analysis report within 02 months. </span></p>
