<p>It is submitted that the industry was visited on 06.02.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p>1. The industry was not in operation during visit. The industry has installed machinery for the production of sorted raw rice with dryer.</p>
<p>2. The industry has covered all the processing sheds.</p>
<p>3. The industry has now provided paved road from main gate of the industry to the rice room/husk area for the movements of vehicles.</p>
<p>4. The industry has provided separate Cyclone Separator as APCD along with stack of adequate height to control the process emission from shelling section as well as paddy cleaner attached with 2 dryer.</p>
<p>5. The industry has provided stack of adequate height with the APCD and provisions to facilitate emission sampling.</p>
<p>6. The industry has now provided wind screen over the brick wall to make 15 feet high and length of said wall has been made 70 feet, around husk discharge / storage area, in compliance to code of practice prescribed by the Govt. vide order dt. 15.10.2013.</p>
<p>7. The industry has now provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent.</p>
<p>8. The industry has planted sapling along its boundary wall.</p>
<p> The industry is now complying with the code of practice notified by the Govt. of Punjab, Department of Science, Technology & Environment vide notification no 10/48/2004-STE-(4) / 932 dated. 15/10/2013. The competency for grant of consents to the rice shellers with dryer lies with the Environmental Engineer of the Regional Office.</p>
