BARBT22357276302 dated 07/12/2022</span><span style="font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">, which is adequate for one year.</span></p> <p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 71.95pt; line-height: 115%; margin: .55pt 2.45pt .0001pt 6.7pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">The project proponent has obtained CLU from Local Government, Punjab issued by Competent Authority vide memo no. PB/CLU/BNN/BARNA/2571 dated 17/10/2022 for change of land use for commercial project in the land measuring 48 Kanal 14.71 Marla (24652.99 sq mtr) in the revenue estate of Dhanaula road, Barnala.</span></p> <p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 71.95pt; line-height: 115%; margin: .55pt 2.45pt .0001pt 6.7pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Further, it is submitted that a complaint dated 9.1.2023 has also been received from Sh. The total water requirement for the project will be 53 KLD for domestic purposes),out of which 43.0 KLD of domestic wastewater will be generated and same will be treated in STP of 42&plusmn;10% KLD capacity to be installed based on SBR Technology. The project proponent has proposed that Out of 43 KLD, about 20 KLD treated water will be used for horticulture / green area measuring 2900 m<sup>2</sup> area inside the colony and excess water about 23 KLD will be discharged into MC Sewer. The project proponent has obtained permission from MS Barnala vide no. 492/B dated 20.12.2022 to discharge treated wastewater into MC sewer. However, the MC has stated that the MC will allow to discharge the treated wastewater in the MC sewer after depositing requisite charges as well as approval of site plan from the Competent Authority after completion of the project and as per the available capacity of the sewer at that time, the MC will allow to discharge the treated wastewater discharged into MC Sewer. In this regard, it is pertinent to mentioned here that the MC Barnala has installed STP of 20 MLD capacity, the monitoring of the same is being carried out by the Board on monthly basis and it was come to the notice that the STP is running at its full capacity of 20 MLD and MC Barnala has yet not submitted any proposal to enhance the capacity of STP. Hence, the project proponent&nbsp; is required to revise the proposal for utilization of entire treated wastewater in its premises, in case MC has not enhanced the capacity of STP. However, the compliance of disposal of treated wastewater is not adequate. Hence, not complying with the provisions of the Water Act,1974.&nbsp; </span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that the show cause notice for refusal of NOC may be issued to the project proponent due to above said violations.</span></p>
