<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify;">The industry is a small scale orange category unit. Earlier a complaint was received regarding smoke pollution caused by the industry. The industry was visited by AEE on 24.06.2022 and reported that industry has installed lathe and general machinery in its premises. The industry has installed one pit furnace without stack. The industry has installed one D.G set of capacity 15 KVA (Non-operational) which is without canopy. There is no source of generation of trade effluent. Domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has not submitted any proof regarding date of commissioning of the industry. The industry is operating without obtaining NOC/Consent to Operate.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Accordingly, the industry was issued show cause notice vide letter no. 2553 dated 30.08.2022 to reply within 15-days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has now applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act 1974 and Air Act, 1981 through OCMMS for manufacturing of G.M Valves @ 50 Kgs/day by using Gunmetal Scrap @ 50 Kgs/day and Brass @ 5 Kgs/day by installing 1 No. Pit Furnace with adequate stack height.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify;">·<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry was visited by officer on 07.11.2022 and observed that the industry was in operation. The industry has installed one coal fired pit furnace with hood and adequate stack height (Same was not in operation at the time of visit). The industry has installed one D.G set of capacity 15 KVA (Non-operational) which is without canopy. There is no source of trade effluent generation only domestic effluent is discharge into sewer. The industry is located in designated Industrial Area-A, Jalandhar. The industry has submitted approved building plan from Director of Factories Act, Punjab. The industry has submitted adequate consent to operate fee under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 adequate upto 30.09.2027.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2027 with usual conditions, please.
