<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is submitted that the industry is a small scale red category industry and has been granted Consent to Operate under the Water Act, 1974, valid upto 30.06.2025.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> Earlier the industry was surprisingly visited by RO on 14.11.2022 regarding identification of the chemicals used by the industry in its process of acid pickling as the industry has made an agreement with JBR Technologies Ltd. Unit-II, vill. Mangarh, Machhiwara Road, Kohara, Ludhiana for lifting of its trade effluent @ 1200 ltr/month. Accordingly, the effluent sample was collected from the trade effluent collection tank of the industry and sent to Zonal Laboratory for qualitative analysis. As per the results of analysis report received in this office, the industry is using H2SO4 along with HCL in its process. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Accordingly, directions u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 were issued to the industry for disconnection of electricity vide Board letter no 282 dated 17.01.23 . </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974. The industry has deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 31.12.2026 under both Acts.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">To verify the facts, the industry was visited by officer of RO on 02.02.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was not in operation during the visit and electric connection of the industry has been found disconnected vide TDCO no 101 dated 25.01.2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry is engaged in acid dipping and powder coating of cycle parts. The industry generates trade effluent from the process of acid pickling and same will be lifting to M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Unit-II), re-processor.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry has made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Unit-II), re-processor @ 1200ltr/month dated 01.02.2021.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has provided the water meter in process area and reading during the visit was observed as 28 KL. The industry is maintaining the record of fresh water consumption viz a viz trade effluent lifted.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has submitted request letter informing that they use only H2SO4 in its process and never uses HCL in its process. The industry has requested to re-sample the acid in any approved /Board laboratory as their industry cannot run on HCL and they only use H2SO4.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The industry is located in the designated industrial area i.e. Phase-7, Focal Point, Ludhiana.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of the above, it is recommended that </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be issued to restore the electric connection temporarily for six months.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be granted to industry for six months with usual conditions.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Bank guarantee of Rs. 1.0 lac be imposed to the industry for not to use HCl in the process as in case of M/s Simran Bright Bar.</p>
