CTOA/Varied/LDH2/2022/18335863 dated 05/04/2022 valid upto 31/03/2023 for manufacturing of Aerated Soft Drinks & RTS Juice (Total) @ 259 Kilo Liters/Day with following special conditions as under :-</span></p>

The Board would be at liberty to take penal action against the industry and its responsible/ concerned person(s) in case information/document is detected as incorrect/false/misleading at any point of time. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .5in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .5in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast;">Thereafter, a meeting was taken by Competent Authority of the Board on 13.07.2022 to review the compliance of directions u/s 5 of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 issued by the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Punjab vide above directions dated 10.10.2019 for segregation of industrial effluents discharged into municipal sewer of Ludhiana, wherein it was decided as under:</span></p>

The industry has submitted a written request stating that it shall not be viable for the industry to install complete ZLD system due to shortage of space and other constraints. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .5in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 2;"> </span>Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>

The industry is engaged in filling of non-alcoholic soft drink, carbonated beverages & juice.</span></p>

The ETP comprises of collection tank, screen, equalization tank, dosing arrangements, aeration tank, 2 nos. secondary clarifier installed in series, sand filter, carbon filter, sludge drying press and filter press. The ETP was also in operation during the visit. The treated effluent was being discharged into sewer.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -49.5pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .5in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast;">The industry has submitted an analysis report of sample of wastewater collected on 29.11.2022 by M/s efrac which is an NABL approved Lab. As per the analysis results, the industry is conforming to the prescribed standards and results are given below in annotated form is attached herewith.</span></p>

These OCEMS were connected with the server of CPCB. These meters are connected with the PPCB server.</span></p>

The industry is maintaining the record of water consumption, wastewater treated and the electricity consumed in the operation of the ETP. The average discharge during the month of November, December, January and February is 250 KLD, 120 KLD, 630 KLD and 610 KLD respectively. The representative of the industry informed that variation in discharge is due to the fact that the industry is a seasonal unit and the production of beverages vary in accordance with demand which is higher for the upcoming summer month and lesser for the winter months.</span></p>

Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Hon’ble Minister Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab on 19.10.2022 with the delegation of the Large scale dyeing units of Ludhiana for segregation of industrial effluents discharged into municipal sewer of Ludhiana in-compliance of directions u/s 5 of EPA, 1986 issued by the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab vide order dated 10.10.2019 wherein it was decided that :-</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><em><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">‘All the Large Scale Dyeing units discharging their effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana shall take adequate steps to stop discharging their industries effluent into Municipal sewer, Ludhiana by 31.03.2024</span></em><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">’</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The above industry is a beverages manufacturing unit and the effluent is generated mainly from washing of bottles which is not as toxic as dyeing effluent. </span></p>
