Now, the industry has applied for obtaining consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board under white category. The investment on plant and machinery is Rs. 17.65 lac as per CA certificate dated 06.02.2023, which is less than 1 crore as prescribed for industry to be considered in exempted category.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-right: 24.0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 18.0pt; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; tab-stops: 27.0pt; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The industry was visited on 22.02.2023 and it was observed that the industry has installed stitching and cutting machines etc. and is manufacturing belts, wallets etc. There is no generation of trade effluent and only domestic effluent is discharged into MC sewer. The industry has installed 1 no. of D.G set with capacity of 9 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height. The industry is covered at Sr.no. 4022-Leather cutting and stitching (more than 10 machines and using motor) and is exempted from the consent management of the board.. The industry has submitted registration granted under Factories Act, 1948 and is established in General Industrial Zone as per Master Plan, Jalandhar.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-right: 19.5pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 18.0pt; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; tab-stops: 27.0pt; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry under White Category, with additional conditions that:-</span></p>

That there will not be any discharge of trade effluent from the industry into stream or well or sewer or onto land and/or that industry will not discharge any air pollution including noise into the atmosphere.</span></p>
