<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category unit engaged in food processing. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2022/18846562 dated 15.07.2022 & under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2022/18986527 dated 15.07.2022 for the production of Ice cream @ 450 Ltr/day with the disposal of trade effluent @ 1.5 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.4 KLD into sewer. Which were expired on 14.01.2023. Further Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 were issued to restore the electric connection of the unit upto 14.01.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Now the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for the production of Ice cream @ 450 kgs/day with the disposal of trade effluent @ 1.5 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.4 KLD into sewer. The industry had already deposited Rs. 6600/- vide R. No. AXSK203440003316 dated 09.12.2020 & Rs. 6600/- vide R. No. AXSK210280006654 dated 28.01.2021 under Water Act, 1974. Rs. 6600/- vide R. No. AXSK203440003336 dated 09.12.2020 & Rs. 6600/- vide R. No. AXSK210280006625 dated 28.01.2021 under Air Act, 1981. Rs. 4400/- vide R. no. AXSK213380001234 dated 04.12.2021 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 4400/- vide R. no. AXSK213380001255 dated 04.12.2021 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which are adequate upto 30.06.2024 under both acts. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was visited by officer of this office on 24.02.2023 and it was observed that:-</span></p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry is engaged in the manufacturing of ice cream and the same was not in operation during the visit.</p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry had already installed ETP for the treatment of effluent generated from the process and the same was in operation condition but during the visit same was not in operation as no effluent was being generated/ discharged.</p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The treated effluent is being discharged into MC sewer.</p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one DG set of capacity @ 125 KVA with canopy inside the premises.</p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry has already submitted the copy of continuity certificate from ATP, Ludhiana <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>vide no. 2544/ATP-D dated 25.05.2018 stating that the industry can operate at site till August 2023.</p>
<p class="Default" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 3.0pt; line-height: 150%;"> </span></p>
<p class="Default" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="color: windowtext;">Keeping in view of the above, it is therefore recommended that:-</span></p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; color: windowtext;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><span style="color: windowtext;">Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.07.2023 with usual conditions and special condition that industry shall be bound to abide by the provisions of the Master Plan, Ludhiana.</span></p>
<p class="Default" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; color: windowtext;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="color: windowtext;">Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be issued to restore the electric connection of the unit temporarily for the period of six months. </span></p> |
