<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"> The industry is a small scale orange category unit and has applied for fresh consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 through OCMMS.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>As per agenda note, the industry was visited by the AEE on 16.02.2023 and reported that the industry has installed one induction furnace @ 250 Kg/Heat with bag filter house as APCD and adequate stack height as per design provided by PSCST, Chandigarh issued vide no. PSCST/TFD/689 dated 23.01.2023. The industry has submitted land use classification certificate by DTP Kapurthala vide no. DTP(K)/EC-1 dated 29.07.2022 as per which the industry is situated in general industrial zone which is outside the limits of Municipal Corporation, Phagwara. The industry has installed 1 no. D.G set of 140 KVA with canopy and adequate stack. The industry has submitted building plan approved by Director of Factories, Punjab.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span> <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Keeping in view of report of RO, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act,1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2027 with suitable conditions and special conditions: -</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall appoint dedicated staff for operation / maintenance of APCD / collection system, within one month.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall implement the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prepared by Punjab State Council for Science & Technology for APCD in toto so as to achieve the prescribed standards on a regular basis.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall get its stack emissions sample analyzed from Board’s lab and submit analysis results within one month.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall obtain necessary clearance for abstraction of groundwater from the authorities concerned as notified by the Central Ground Water Authority.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall not use any un-authorized fuel and shall use fuel only for which consent is granted by the Board.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall ensure that hazardous wastes of all categories are collected properly & disposed off to the authorized companies by executing agreements and shall maintain all the records as per provisions of the HWM Rules.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">7.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall not throw burn or burry any solid wastes in open outside premises or in drain / water bodies.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">8.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">The industry shall promote use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">The industry shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-left: 114.0pt; text-indent: -60.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">10.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">The industry shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. </span>Competency – Senior Environmental Engineer</p> |
