<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">Discussed, earlier, the industry was caught discharging effluent in the green belt of Phase 5, Focal Point, Ludhiana and directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 were issued to the PSPCL authorities vide Board letter no. 4161-63 dated 22.06.2022 that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;"> <strong><em>“That the authorities concerned shall disconnect the supply of electric available to the premises of subject cited industry.”</em></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Further, the Environmental Compensation of Rs. 25,000/- was imposed on the industry and same has been deposited by the industry in this office. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Thereafter, the industry had applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS and electric connection was restored for six months i.e. upto 03.02.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Now, the industry has again applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS on 02.02.2023. It is informed that the industry was visited on 18.11.2022, 09.01.2023 & 22.02.2023 and found complying during the 03 visits and maintaining the record of total water consumption viz a viz effluent lifted to CETP Operator.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2024 alongwith permanent restoration of electric connection of the industry with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board. </span></p> |
