CTOW/Renewal/RPN/2022/18910238 dated 28/06/2022 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/RPN/2022/18910225 dated 28/06/2022, both were valid upto 31/12/2022 for operation of crushing, screening washing of aggregates @ 10,000 CFT/day subject to the suitable conditions mentioned therein.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 72.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal of 'consent to operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 along with compliance of previous consent granted to the unit, mining slips, undertaking regarding code of practice and legal mining. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 72.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">The unit has submitted the CA certificate wherein the value of fixed assets of the unit as on 31.03.2022 is of Rs. 361.47 Lakhs with the value of plant and machinery of Rs. 340.08 lakhs. As per the record file, the fee deposited by the unit under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was adequate upto 31.03.2024. </span><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The industry has submitted an undertaking to grant upto the existing fee as they will sell the plant. </span><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">As such, after deducting 10% penalty as late application fee, the fee is now adequate upto 31.01.2024 as per circular dated 29.10.2018.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 76.5pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">Further, the unit has submitted the slips of obtaining raw material from <br />HP, verified by O/o Executive Engineer-cum-District Mining, Drainage cum Mining Division, Sri Anandpur Sahib dated 09.01.2023 regarding obtaining raw material from Himachal Pradesh through check post Khera Kalmot<strong>.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 76.5pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">It is added here the unit has also submitted Rs. 7316/- vide R. No. 3/5324 dated 08.06.2022, as advance fee w.r.t the ambient air samples and has requested to conduct the sampling through the Board, which shall be conducted shortly.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-indent: 72pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">And, as per circular no. CEE (HQ)/F.No./957/2016/59 dated 02/02/2016, the case for renewal of NOC/Consent to operate for Orange & Green category industries is to be processed based on self-certification submitted by the industry to the effect that it is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, as such, the stone crushing unit covers under orange category.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 5.95pt 5.7pt 6pt 5pt; text-indent: 67pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">In view of the above facts and letter issued by the Executive Engineer, Deptt. of Irrigation-cum-Mining, Sri Anandpur Sahib and e-mail received from Executive Engineer, Deptt. of Irrigation-cum-Mining, Rupnagar and raw material mining slips, verified by their office, if approved, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed for a short period</span><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-font-width: 110%;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">upto 30.09.2023 upto the adequacy of consent fee and considering orange category culminating period, subject to the suitable conditions and additional conditions as under:</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 63.8pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -14.15pt; line-height: 150%; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">b) The industry shall ensure that the settling tank(s) is/are cleaned regularly to maintain minimum clear water depth of 3m.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0cm 4.3pt .0001pt 42.55pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';">14.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">The industry shall make arrangements for reuse of its whole of wastewater in the process after passing through settling tank.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0cm 4.3pt .0001pt 42.55pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';">15.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">The discharge of treated effluent into inland surface water shall not be allowed and the unit should either reuse the treated effluent for washing purposes etc. or use the same for sprinkling purposes to suppress the dust emissions generated from these sources including emissions generated due to movement of vehicles.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0cm 4.3pt .0001pt 42.55pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';">16.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">The industry shall construct additional tanks if required, so as to ensure entire reuse of the treated wastewater. The industry shall not discharge the untreated/treated wastewater into river or any water body in any case. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 42.55pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';">17.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma;">The effluent discharged through the authorized outlet shall conform to the standards prescribed by the Board as per Board's Notification No.Admn-404 dt. 24.8.1990 published in Punjab Govt. Gazette Notification No.42 dt. 19.10.1990 and Notification No.Admn-27 dtd. 2.3.1994 effective from 1.1.1994 for such discharges onto land for irrigation / plantation.</span><span style="font-size: 1.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"> </span></p>
