<p class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry was earlier granted "Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. PBIP/PPCB/2018/CTO(W)-50 dated 01.06.2018 valid upto 30.09.2018 and vide no. PBIP/PPCB/2018/CTO(A)-50 dated 01.06.2018 valid upto 30.09.2018 for production of Steel ingots @ 81 TPD by using M.S scrap @ 85 TPD as raw material and generating Domestic Effluent @ 6.0 KLD onto land for plantation.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> The industry has now applied for renewal ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 along with requisite documents and fee which is adequate upto 28.02.2027</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> The industry was visited officer of this office on 24.02.2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 63pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry was in operation.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 63pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has installed 1 induction furnace of capacity 8 Ton/Heat was in operation.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 63pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">During the visit, sample was collected from the furnace and sent to Air & Water Lab for analysis. The analysis report was received from Air & Water Lab Ludhiana vide no. 2713-15 dated 23.02.2023 the results are within the prescribe limit by the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 63pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">There is no source of generating of trade effluent, only domestic effluent is generated which is discharge onto land for plantation after septic tank.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 63pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry is complying with previously consent conditions under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2027</span></p>
