<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">RO has visited the site to verify the reply submitted by the industry and reported that the industry has provided a bypass near the collection tank from where untreated wastewater was being disposed of along with treated water onto land for a plantation developed by the industry outside its premises at the distance of 100-150 meter, about the one-acre area was developed as per Karnal Technology and a lot of wild growth was observed in the area, the industry has not made the adequate treatment to treat the wastewater generated from kitchen and septic tank wastewater got left through the mobile tank. Further, it is intimated that the complaint was received, regarding the illegal discharge of effluent outside of the premises of the industry. RO has already reported that the facts mentioned in the said complaint were genuine.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">In view of the above the industry does make continues a violation under the provision of the Water Act, of 1974.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The CTO applied by the industry is pending since 6/12/22. If approved the following action may be approved</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">1) CTO under Water Act,1974 applied by the industry may be refused. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">2) notice under u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry with an opportunity for a personal hearing before the CEE(P). the following direction may be proposed in this notice.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A) EC shall be imposed as damage to the Environment.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> B. That the industry shall take all necessary steps to close down its operations and stop forthwith discharging any effluent/ emissions from its plant or through any mode.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> C. That the industry will immediately stop its activities and will not restart the same unless all necessary pollution control measures are taken and it obtains 'consent to operate' from the Board as required under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> D. That the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. authorities shall be directed not to release the supply of electricity available to the industry.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> E. To seal DG set and plant and machinery installed by the industry.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> </span></p>
