<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black; background: white;">The industry is a small scale red category unit engaged in manufacturing of soft drinks and juices. It<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 upto 31/03/2023 for manufacturing of Aerated Soft Drinks & RTS Juice (Total) @ 259 Kilo Liters/Day.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black; background: white;">Now the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry was visited officers of the Board on 22.02.2023 and it was found complying. Please peruse detailed note dated 22.2.23 by AEE for details.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black; background: white;">It is further informed that in compliance to the decisions taken by the Competent Authority, an additional condition has been imposed in consent to operate granted to the industry under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 that the industry shall take adequate steps to stop discharging their industrial effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana by 31.03.2023. The industry has submitted a written request stating that it shall not be viable for the industry to install complete ZLD system due to shortage of space and other constraints. </span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black; background: white;">As the large scale dyeing units have already been granted relaxation upto 31.03.2024 to stop discharging industrial effluent into Municipal Sewer, the Regional office is of the view that the request of the above industry could also be considered as the effluent from the above unit is basically generated from washing of bottles and is not as toxic as other industry which have already been granted relaxation upto 31.03.2024. </span></p>
