<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 70.9pt; text-align: justify;">The subject cited brick kiln was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH1/2021/16652773 dated 24.09.2021 valid upto 23.10.2022 with special condition that :-.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 21.3pt; text-indent: -0.25in; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The brick kiln owners will make necessary technological modifications suggested by the Technical provider in a time-bound manner as decided by the PPCB.</p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 21.3pt; text-indent: -0.25in; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The brick kiln will obtain Environment Clearance from the Competent Authority & submit the same in this office if required.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 70.9pt; text-align: justify;">Now the brick kiln has applied for renewal of 'Consent to Operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, and fresh Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The industry was earlier visited by the officer of the Board on 13/09/2021 and found to comply with the Code of practices prescribed by the Board. However, as per the provisional certificate from PSCST vide no. 1049 dated 12.02.2019, the length of the central island is 279 which is more than 245'. As such, the Consent to Operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was granted to the industry for one year period only.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 70.9pt; text-align: justify;">Punjab Pollution Control Board vide office order SEE(HQ-2)/2020/14830-31 dated 07.07.2020 has issued directions as under:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -0.25in; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->PSCST, Chandigarh, and CBRI, Roorkee shall ensure for conducting the stack monitoring at the start of next season and for submitting the report to the Board within one month of next season.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent: -0.25in; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The Board shall continue to grant consents for a short term of one year in such cases, where provisional certificates are granted by the Technical Providers with condition that brick kiln owners will make necessary technological modifications suggested by the technology provider in a time-bound manner as decided by the PPCB.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 70.9pt; text-align: justify;">In view of the above, if approved, Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry for one year period i.e 30/06/2024 subject to suitable conditions and additional conditions as under:-</p>
