<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">Discussed, it is submitted that earlier consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 was granted for short period with a condition that the industry shall made an agreement with CETP (Electroplating), Ludhiana for lifting of trade effluent within 3 months and submit the same at Regional Office, Sangrur. It was also mentioned in the note history (copy attached) of previous application of the industry that as per Board policy, Effluent from small scale surface coating units are to be lifted, treated and disposed through CETP. Further, at time of earlier consent, Board does not allow such industries to make agreement with CETP of Ludhiana due to capacity issues. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;">As such, the industry has failed to comply with the conditions of the Water Act, 1974. This office is of the view that policy decisions may be taken whether to allow the operation of ETP in the small scale industry or industry is required to made agreement with the CETP.</span></p> |
