<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry is a red category glue manufacturing tiny unit. The industry was granted ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2022/19140 dated 27.10.2022 valid upto 26.04.2023 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2022/19140833 dated 23.08.2022 upto 22.02.2023 for manufacturing of Glue @ 5 TPD subject to condition mentioned therein.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';">Earlier, t</span><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">he industry was visited by AEE of this office on 02.03.2022 and it was observed that the untreated effluent from glue kettle washing section along with untreated domestic effluent was discharged into open borewell (old well type borewell) located within the premises of the industry. Also, the industry was not complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974. Accordingly, directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 were issued to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited authorities to disconnect the supply of electricity available to the industry. Accordingly, the electricity connection was disconnected vide TDCO no. 187/21014 dated 27.06.2022.Thereafter, the industry was again visited by AEE of this office on 29.06.2022<span style="color: red;"> </span>and it was observed that as under:</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry had installed batch type ETP of capacity for the treatment of trade effluent generated from the process. The ETP consisting of collection tank, aeration tank/coagulation tank, primary tube settler, sand filter, ACF, outlet. The components of the ETP were in line and ETP is made into operation-able condition. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry had closed the borewell by removing all mechanical fittings and capillary and filled it with sand. Concrete layer was laid on the borewell area. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The Competent Authority considered the above report and decided to impose Environmental Compensation of Rs. 2.00 lacs to the industry and in compliance to the above, the industry had deposited Environmental Compensation of Rs. 2.00 lacs vide R. no. 49/5480 dated 26.10.2022. Further, the directions were issued to PSPCL Authorities to restore the electricity connection of the industry temporarily for six months</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal of ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS for manufacturing of Glue @ 07 TPD. The industry has already deposited Rs. 11,000/- vide UTR no. P144220170834237 dated 24.05.2022 under the Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 11,000/- vide UTR No. No. P144220170816365 dated 24.05.2022 under the Water Act, 1974, which is adequate upto 31.12.2030 under each Act. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 06.03.2023 and it was observed as under:</span></p>

The industry is not operating regularly as ply-board units of Humbran area are operating only 3-4 days per week.</span></p>

The industry has provided pipeline for discharge of treated trade effluent into plantation area of about 100 yard. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed one wood fired boiler of capacity 0.3TPH along with stack of adequate height.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 35KVA with canopy & adequate stack height.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Keeping the above in view, it is recommended that:</span></p>
