<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->It is submitted that the industry is a medium scale red category industry and was granted Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, both valid upto 31.03.2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry has deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 31.03.2028 under both Acts against gross value of fixed assets Rs. 1325.89 Lacs and plant & machinery Rs. 966.76 Lacs as on 31.03.2022.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->The industry was visited by the officer of RO on 22.02.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was not in operation during the visit and engaged in manufacturing of MS Ingot/Billets.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 02 nos. of induction furnaces of capacity 10 TPH each. The industry has provided spark arrestor followed by separate bag filter house as APCD with each furnace. As per the record, the industry has already installed the side hood technology with its furnace.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Earlier, the industry was visited by RO on 23.11.2022 and air emission samples were collected from porthole on stack after APCD. As per analysis reports received from Zonal Laboratory, Ludhiana, the concentration of SPM was found to be 88 mg/NM3 which is within the prescribed limits of the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry is using clean scrap in its process and also impart regular training to their workers regarding the operation of the furnace. Further, the industry has also maintenance schedule of the inspection of filter bags and the preventive maintenance schedule.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry is complying with the SOP prescribed for such units.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one no. DG set of 250 KVA equipped with canopy and adequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7. <!--[endif]-->There is no source of trade effluent generation, cooling water is re-circulated and only domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The site of the industry falls in approved focal point. There is increased in plant and machinery of about 87 lacs in 4 years, which is normal in such scale of industries.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that the renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31.03.2028 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board and with special condition that the industry shall comply with the SOP prescribed for such units.</p>
