<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is submitted that the industry is a small scale green category unit and was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 both valid upto 01.03.2023 for the production of industrial packing material @ 600 Kgs/day.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was earlier visited by AEE of RO on 13.05.2022 and the same was found manufacturing polythene carry bags. Accordingly, Directions were issued to the PSPCL Authorities to disconnect the electric connection of the unit. The electric connection of the industry has been disconnected by the PSPCL authorities vide TDCO no. 60/820 dated 02.08.2022.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> Further Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 were issued to restore the electric connection of the unit upto 01.03.2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry had already deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 31.03.2029 under both acts.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by AEE of RO on 06.03.2023 and observed that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry is engaged in the process of manufacturing of industrial plastic packing material by using fresh plastic granule and the same was in operation during the visit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 03 no. extruder machines, 3 cutting machine.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry does not generate any trade effluent and domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has also submitted a request letter to restore its electric connection.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry is complying with conditions of consents granted to it under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The site of the industry falls in Industrial Zone as per master plan, Ludhiana vide STP letter no. 3724 dated 09.09.2011.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for restoration of the electric connection of the industry temporarily for six months</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for the period of six months with the special condition that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->a) <!--[endif]-->The industry shall never manufacture/ store polythene carry bags in future.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->b) <!--[endif]-->The industry shall obtain registration under EPR within one month please. </p>
