CTOA/Fresh/ASR/2022/16139519 dated 06/05/2022 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/ASR/2022/16139570 dated 06/05/2022, which are valid up to 30/09/2026 </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-language: PA; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-bidi-font-style: italic;">under Orange Category for production of Cashew @ 12 MTD & Cashew by-product @ 18 MTD by using Cashew Nuts @ 30 MTD, boiler of capacity @ 1.5 TPH & baby boiler @ 0.5 TPH, wood is being used as a fuel and Trade effluent @ 1 KLD & Domestic effluent @ 5.2 KLD.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Now, the industry has applied for obtaining varied consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 under Orange Category </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-language: PA; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-bidi-font-style: italic;">for production of Cashew @ 16 MTD & Cashew by-product @ 24 MTD by using Cashew Nuts @ 40 MTD, boiler of capacity @ 2 TPH, boiler @ 1.5 TPH (standby) & baby boiler @ 0.5 TPH (standby), using wood as a fuel and Trade effluent @ 1.26 KLD & Domestic effluent @ 5.8 KLD </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">along with Compliance of the previous granted consents, site/location Plan, CA Certificate, CA year-wise details and justification regarding fixed assets, approved map, manufacturing process, drawing of ETP, completion certificate of ETP, partnership deed, permission for CLU issued by STP, Amritsar vide memo no. 885/STP(A)/CLU-1 dated 21/09/2011 for total land measured 13 Kanal 00 Marlas for industrial purpose (Dry Fruit) etc</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;">.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry was visited by officer of this office on 07/03/2023 and observed as under:-</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; padding-left: 40px;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Trade effluent is generated as residue water used for cooking of cashews.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; padding-left: 40px;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Treated effluent is discharged into sewer after treatment in ETP-cum-STP.</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; padding-left: 40px;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">7.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Earlier installed boiler of capacity @ 1.5 TPH and a baby boiler @ 0.5 TPH (both wood fired), will be used as standby.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; padding-left: 40px;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">8.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has provided Multi Cyclone and Scrubber as APCD along with adequate height of stack with both the boilers.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; padding-left: 40px;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed DG sets of capacity 125 KVA (02 nos.), which are provided with canopies.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>It is further intimated that the industry is complying with the conditions of consents to operate granted earlier under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry falls in Orange category in the medium-scale sector and competency to decide the case lies with Chief Environmental Engineer of the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that t</span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; font-size: 12pt;">he consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 30/09/2027 </span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; font-size: 12pt;">with suitable terms and special condition that the industry shall submit the analysis report of effluent/emission within 02 months.</span></p> |
