<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 40.5pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/LDH1/2022/19918754 dated 10.10.2022 valid upto 09.04.2023 with usual terms and conditions and with following special condition that the industry shall not operate any water polluting machinery process. In compliance to special condition, the machinery (wet) was sealed and report sent to the Competent Authority vide e-noting no. 20188956 dated 14.10.2022. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 40.5pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 along with request to allow them to operate wet machinery, as they have already made agreement with JBR and the CETP operator has now surplus capacity to treat fresh agreements. The fee already deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.06.2026.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> In order to verify the facts, the industry was visited by officer of this office on 15.03.2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was in operation. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed 02 nos. hot dip galvanizing furnace & has provided wet scrubber as APCD.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed 05 nos. zinc platting barrels and seals earlier provided were checked and found intact. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The tanks meant for storage of effluent is of 10000 ltrs capacity.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed 02 Hammers (01 ton and 1.5 ton), 2 Biller heaters, various headers, Sheet metal presses and other Allied Machinery.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has also installed two pickling wells inside the premises.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has already provided Water meter at Fresh water source. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has got lifted 1500 ltrs on 27.08.2022 & 1000 ltr on 08.09.2022 and after that no record of lifting is available, as the wet process was non-operational.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has provided Environmental Data Board outside the industry.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; text-autospace: ideograph-numeric ideograph-other;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry has made agreement with CETP operator on 09.06.2022 for lifting of trade effluent @ 2500 Ltr/month.</span></li>

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;">11.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has already signed agreement of quantity 2500 ltr/month on 09.06.2022 with the CETP operator (JBR Focal Point, Ludhiana) for lifting its trade effluent and same was submitted with previous and present application. Now fresh permission has been given to the CETP operator to sign new agreement which is being regularized by the Competent Authority.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 40.5pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">In view of above, it is recommended that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The request of the industry for operating galvanizing process may kindly be considered and consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2026 for manufacturing of zinc plated items i.e. Bolts @1000Kgs/day, Thread Rod @2000 Kgs/day and Coupler @3000Kgs/day with lifting of trade @ 2500 Ltr/month effluent to CETP operator i.e. M/s JBR technologies Pvt. Ltd. Focal Point, Phase-8, Ludhiana with suitable terms and conditions.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Orders for de-sealing of 5 nos. galvanizing barrels may also be issued.</span></p>
