<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry is a small scale red category unit and was granted consent under Water Act, 1974 valid upto 31.03.2021 and Air Act 1981 valid upto 30.06.2023 for dry process to leather. Further the electric connection of the member industry was restored lastly upto 31.12.2021 as per letter no. 3684 to 3742 dated 12.10.2021 with the direction to operate the plant & machinery upto 31.12.2021.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. Regional Office-2, Jalandhar has processed the consent application of industry and as per detail agenda note, the industry was visited by AEE on 02.03.2023 and it was observed that the industry was in operation during visit and has installed 7 no. tanning drums of size i.e 4 no. drum of size (9’x9’), 2 no. drum of size (8’x8’) and 1 no. drum of size (8’x6’) were in operational condition and 5 no. sample drums. The industry has provided the pre-treatment plant consisting collection tank, clarifier for the pretreatment of its trade effluent, same was in operation during the visit.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>As per record, the water meter reading on 01.10.2022 on the submersible pump was 77561 KL. The reading was noted to be 87651 KL during the visit & as such the industry has consumed 10090 KL of fresh water since 01.10.2022.As per record, the water meter reading on 01.10.2022 on the effluent line was 754 KL. The reading was noted to be 9488 KL during the visit & as such the industry has discharged 8734 KL of fresh water since 01.10.2022. As such the average daily consumption is 67 KL and discharge is about 58 KL. Discounting for domestic usage of the industry and consumption in boiler, the record seems to be in consonance. The industry has got lifted 12 KL of wet slurry from the clarifier to PETS vide manifest no. 4358/59 on 24.02.2023. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of report of RO, it is recommended that:-</p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: 2.0cm; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -24.75pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level3 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">a.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry will not discharge more than 45.5 KLD of effluent into drain leading to the CETP.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: 2.0cm; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -24.75pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level3 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">b.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall operate its pretreatment plant efficiently in future.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: 2.0cm; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -24.75pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level3 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">c.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall comply with the any directions received from the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court Chandigarh as well as Hon’ble NGT New Delhi in case of LPA 1924 of 2014 and application no 08 of 2017.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; margin-left: 2.0cm; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -24.75pt; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level3 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">d.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry shall comply with the PETP standards as and when notified by the Board.</span></p>
