<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 64.05pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; text-align: justify;"><span style="line-height: 150%;">The industry was earlier visited by the officer of the Board on 12.04.2022 surprisingly and reported that the industry was in operation during visit and was found manufacturing plastic carry bags. The stock of plastic carry bags was found. The samples of carry bags found manufactured at site were taken during visit. As per report, the industry is manufacturing plastic carry bags, in violation of Government of Punjab, Department of Local Government notification no. 5/18/2016-4lg4/692717/1 dated 18.02.2016 and conditions of consent granted to it by the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 64.05pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; text-align: justify;"><span style="line-height: 150%;">Accordingly, directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was issued for closure of unit and the industry have been directed to deposit Environmental Compensation amounting to Rs. 2 lac. The PSPCL authority have also been directed to disconnect electric connection of the industry.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 64.05pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; text-align: justify;"><span style="line-height: 150%;">Accordingly, the ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was issued and the directions issued u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was dropped temporarily upto 22/02/2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 64.05pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; text-align: justify;"><span style="line-height: 150%;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of Consent to Operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The industry has deposited the fees of Rs. 26,314/- vide R. No. 48/5541 dated 14.03.2023. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 64.05pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; text-align: justify;"><span style="line-height: 150%;">The industry was visited by undersigned on 06/03/2023 and it was observed that:-</span></p>
