Kindly, peruse the note of AEE

It is submitted that the industry was not a member of the meeting held on 21.12.2021 under the Chairmanship of Chairman of the Board regarding adoption of zero liquid discharge (ZLD) by pickling/electroplating units generating trade effluent more than 150 KL/month and disposing their effluent to CETP. Further, the minutes of the meeting were not conveyed to the industry. As such, the industry has not been persuaded earlier for adoption of ZLD.

It is pertinent to mention here that the industry has already installed ETPs based on ZLD system for treatment of trade effluent generated from electroplating section and rinsing water from acid pickling section.

Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that the industry may be granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 for six months with special condition that the industry shall adopt ZLD technology for treatment of spent acid, within six months and shall submit proposal in this regard, within 2 months.
|
