<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">The industry is a small scale green category unit and was earlier granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 were issued for restoration of electric supply temporarily upto 13.03.2023. The industry was also asked for deposition of Environmental Compensation amounting to Rs.2.0/- Lacs in four equal instalments.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 under Green Category for manufacturing of packaging material (LD @ 380 Kg/day) from fresh LD, LLDP @ 400 Kg/day. </span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">The industry was visited by officer of the Board on 27.03.2023 and observed that the industry was in operation. It has installed extrusion machine (01 no.), cutting / sealing machine (01 no.), winding machine (01 no.) and weighing machine (01 no.). The industry has not used water in its process and domestic effluent shall be discharged into MC sewer.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">As per Assistant Town Planner, Municipal Corporation, Zone-C, Ludhiana letter no. 197, 198 & 199 dated 30.08.2011 the site of the industry i.e. plot no. 1242, 1243 and 1244 falls in Industrial Mix Zone as per master plan of Ludhiana.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">The industry has submitted only one instalment of amounting to Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty thousand only) as Environmental Compensation through demand draft. However, vide request dated 20.03.2023, it has expressed inability to deposit Environmental Compensation mentioning its poor financial condition due to treatment of the son of representative of the industry, who is suffering from serious eye disease,.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">The representative of the industry has informed that his son is suffering from serious eye disease and lot of money being incurred on his medical treatment and unable to deposit balance <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>EC of Rs. 1.5 lac. The industry has requested to waive off the balance Environmental Compensation amount.</span></p>
<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">It is pertinent to mention here that the industry is a small scale green category unit and value of Plant & machinery is Rs. 2,67, 558/-. </span></p>

<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">In view of above, it is recommended as under:</span></p>

<p class="ydp8b25cf8eyiv6589084485ydp48a32f10msonormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level2 lfo2; background: white; margin: 0in 0in 0in 31.5pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial; color: black;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">d.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;">The industry shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.</span></p>
