CTOW/Fresh/LDH3/2021/15721322 dated 30.06.2021 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/LDH3/2021/15721065 dated 05.06.2021 <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">for the production of </span>garment washing (washing of cloth) @ 3500 numbers/day with<span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> discharge of trade effluent @ 150.0 KLD and domestic effluent @ 2.5 KLD into 15 MLD CETP, which were expired on 30.09.2022.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for the production of </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">garment washing (washing of cloth) @ 3500 numbers/day with<span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> discharge of trade effluent @ 150.0 KLD and domestic effluent @ 2.5 KLD into 15 MLD CETP. The industry has deposited Rs. 25,200/- vide UTR. No. SBIN323027906183 dated 27.01.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 25,200/- vide UTR. No. SBIN323027904590 dated 27.01.2023 under Air Act, 1981, which are adequate up to 30.09.2024 after deducting late fee penalty. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 01.04.2023<span style="color: red;"> </span>and observed that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry was in operation during the visit and the same is engaged in the manufacturing and washing of garments.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry has installed 04 conventional garment washing machines of capacity 80 kg each and 04 automatic low liquor ratio washing machines of capacity 1 x 200kg, 1x 150kg and 2x80 kg inside the premises. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">It is pertinent to mention here that, earlier the industry had installed 06 no conventional garment washing machines of capacity 80 Kg each and 02 automatic washing machines of capacity 200 Kg & 150 Kg inside the premises. Hence, the industry has replaced 02 conventional washing machines with 02 automatic machines. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Earlier the industry was found discharging more effluent into the conveyance system of CETP during the month of July 2022 than the quantum of shares obtained as well as consented capacity. Accordingly, directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 was issued to seal the additional machinery, which is contributing to the excess discharge vide no. 6196 dated 07.10.2022. In compliance of the directions, 01 conventional washing machine of capacity 80 kg was sealed during the visit on 02.11.2022. Now the industry has replaced the conventional sealed washing machine with the low liquor ratio automatic machine.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Alongwith the above mentioned directions, a notice u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 was also issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board on 09.11.2022. The proceedings of the hearing is yet to be received. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry has made arrangement to discharge its trade effluent and domestic effluent into </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">dedicates sewer line leading to CETP 15 MLD for final treatment.</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry has installed 01 wood fired baby boiler of capacity 800 Kcal/Hour with cyclone as APCD with adequate stack height.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of above, it is recommended that :-</span></p>
