<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">It is submitted that the industry is a small scale red category electroplating industry and has been granted Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2022/16712958 dated 03.01.2022 valid upto 30.06.2022 with certain conditions.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">Now, the industry has applied for Renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS. The industry has already deposit Rs. 11,400/- vide UTR. No. N069232366540246 dated 10.03.2023, under the Water Act, 1974, including Rs. 1100/- NOC regularization fees and Rs. 1400/- late penalty fees, which is adequate upto 30.11.2028 against gross value of fixed assets Rs. 9,20,493/- and machinery Rs. 8,50,493/- as per C.A Certificate on 31.12.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">To verify the facts, the industry was visited by the undersigned on 04.04.2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">1.<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry was in operation and is engaged in manufacturing of hardware goods having electroplating process. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 13.5pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">2. The industry has provided water meter on the source of fresh water supply & reading was noted to be 111.96 KL. The industry has made revised agreement of 2000Ltr/month with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Phase-8, Ludhiana dated 09.02.2023 (Earlier industry was having agreement of 5000Ltr/month).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">3. The industry is maintaining the record of water consumed in the process. The water meter reading on 01.11.2022 was noted to be 97.9 KL. As such the industry has consumed 14.06 KL of fresh water in the process since 01.11.2022 and as per the lifting receipts it has got lifted 6.5 KL to M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana. Thus, effluent lifted is not in consonance with total water consumption.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">4. The industry has provided storage tank of size 5’x5.5’x5’ for collection of trade effluent generated from the process and storage tank was lying full.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">5. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">In view of above, it is recommended that Show Cause Notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry please.</span></p>
