<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is submitted that the industry is a small scale red category electroplating industry and has been granted Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2022/16712958 dated 03.01.2022 valid upto 30.06.2022 with certain conditions.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now, the industry has applied for Renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The industry has already deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 30.11.2028.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by the AEE of RO on 04.04.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation and is engaged in manufacturing of hardware goods having electroplating process.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->As per the record, the industry has consumed 14.06 KL of fresh water in the process since 01.11.2022.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry has got lifted 6.5 KL to M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has provided storage tank of size 5’x5.5’x5’ for collection of trade effluent generated from the process and storage tank was lying full. So, 3.89 KL was stored.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->Thus, there is gap of 27% between water consumption and effluent disposed / stored. As such, effluent lifted is not in consonance with total water consumption.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry please.</p>
