CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2019/11594193 dated 16/12/2019 valid upto 31/03/2023 and under the Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH4/2019/11594119 dated 09/12/2019 valid upto 31/03/2023 with certain conditions.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">Now, the industry has applied for Renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. The industry has already deposit Rs. 9,87,000/- vide UTR. No. SBINR52023030134924100 dated 01.03.2023, under the Water Act, 1974, and Rs. 10,29,500/- vide UTR No. SBINR520230134924666 dated 01.03.2023, under the Air Act, 1981, and including NOC regularization fees, which is adequate upto 30.09.2026 against gross value of fixed assets Rs. 37606.41 lacs and plant &amp; machinery Rs. 30508.81 lacs as per C.A Certificate on 31.12.2022.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">To verify the facts, the industry was visited by the undersigned on 21.03.2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the process of spinning for manufacturing of Cotton yarn, Synthetic yarn and m&eacute;lange yarn. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">2. There was no source of trade effluent. Only domestic effluent was being generated and same was being utilized partly onto land for plantation and partly for flushing in residential colony after treating through STP. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">3. The industry has installed STP consists of oil &amp; grease trap, equalization tank, aeration tank, clarifier, chlorine contact tank, media filter, carbon filter, sludge drying beds. The industry has provided water meter at final outlet of STP and separate energy meter with its STP. The industry is also maintaining the record of operation of STP regularly. During visit, the readings of the meters were verified with the record register and found correct. As per record reading of outlet meter of STP on 01.10.2022 was 16730 KL and reading on 20.03.2023 was 98010 KL, the total treated effluent discharged = 81280/171 = 475.3 KLD which is within consented discharge. During Visit, the effluent sample was collected from the outlet of STP. As per analysis report received from Zonal Lab, Jalandhar on 05.04.2023, the concentration of various parameters was found to be pH = 7.4, TSS = 11mg/l, TDS = 494 mg/l, COD = 32mg/l, BOD = 10mg/l, and Oil &amp; Grease = BDL which is within the prescribed limit for such discharge. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">4. The industry has installed four D.G sets with adequate stack heights. All the DG sets are placed in acoustically treated room. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">5. The industry has also provided filters to control the emission of fly/fluff in the processing shed. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">In view of the above, it is recommended that renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2026 with suitable conditions.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">CC:-CEE</span></strong></p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p>
