<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of CTO applied under the Air Act, 1981 vide Board's letter no. 2101-02 dated 29/3/2023 alongwith an opportunity to submit reply within 10-days. The industry has submitted reply to the show cause notice vide letter dated 10.04.2023. It its reply, the industry has submitted that the excess plastic generation from mouldings is only about <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>250-300 kg/day and the same is broken into small pieces by using grinder / chipper. The industry has not installed any pulverizer. After chipper, it is fed to the extruder and converted into pellets and is again used into process. As the quantity of recycling plastic is very less and the quality of recycling plastic is very high, therefore, no significant generation of emissions is there from grinder / chipper and extruder, as such, no APCD is required.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">The reply submitted by the industry seems in order. In view of the above, it is recommended that the show cause notice issued to the industry for refusal of consent to operate applied under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may please be dropped and consent to operate be granted 30.09.2024 subject to suitable terms and conditions and following additional conditions:</p>
