Road, Bathinda before refusal of consents to operate under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 by the Chief Environmental Engineer (B) on 06.04.2023.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> It was brought out that t<span style="background: white;">he industry is service station unit and was granted consents to operate under the provisions of the Water Act 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with validity upto 30.09.2019 & 30.09.2020 respectively for washing & servicing of vehicles (Honda 2 wheelers) @ 50 no./day.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;"> The agency was issued notice for violation of the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity to apply for renewal of CTOs under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981, within 15 days vide this office letter no. 2918 dated 10.08.2021, however the agency failed to submit any compliance in the matter.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;"> The agency has now applied for obtaining renewal of 'consents to operate' under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;"> The agency was visited by the officer of the Board on 28.02.2023 and it was observed that the agency was in operation for repairing and servicing of the two wheelers, however washing was not in operation. The ETP installed by the agency was found not in operationable condition and also no flow meter/energy meter has been provided with the ETP to check the operational status of the same.</span><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> In view of above, the agency has been issued show cause notice before refusal of 'consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing on 06.04.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 22px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">During hearing, Sh. Jagtar Walia, Representative of the agency attended the hearing and submitted that the ETP installed by the agency has been made operational and also flow/energy meter has been provided with the ETP. He further requested to grant consents to operate to the agency.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 21px; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> After hearing the representative of the agency and officer of the Board, the Chief Environmental Engineer (B) decided that the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Bathinda shall visit the agency to verify the submission of its representative and process the applications applied by the agency under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 on merit.</span></p>
