<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was surprisingly visited by Sh. Harpreet Singh, AEE of Regional office-4, Ludhiana on 11.04.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was not in operation during visit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry is engaged in washing of jeans. During visit, washing section was not in operation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry was installed 4 no. tumbler at the ground floor, 5 no. washing machines, 3 no. hydro machines along-with 1 no. sampler washing machine at the first floor.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->During visit, it was observed that the industry has stored few colour chemicals at the first floor. In this regard, the industry representative informed that the colors chemicals are also being used occasionally in the washing section.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed ETP for the treatment of the effluent generated from washing section at the ground floor. During Visit, ETP was not in operation. The industry has installed digital flow meter at the outlet of ETP & reading of the water meter was noted as 5330.506m3. The industry failed to produce the record of total water consumption, chemicals records, discharge, energy meter readings etc. Further physical condition of the ETP reveals that it is not being operated regularly.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one D.G set with canopy but with inadequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the report, the ETP is not working condition as well as presence of colour shows that the industry might also do dyeing odd hrs also.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As such, it is recommended that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be refused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The Regional Office may be directed to contact the PSPCL Authorities and shall got the connection disconnected as temporary restoration already upto 28.02.2023.</p>
