<p>In continuation to the note / recommendations by RO vide agenda note.</p>
<p>It is submitted that the industry has now submitted an undertaking dated 13.04.2023 through email stating that <em>my product compostable bags is completely based on corn starch granules and we are not using any kind of plastic and not in future too because our product is totally based on starch material. </em></p>
<p>In view of above, it is recommended that RO may be allowed to grant CTOs under the provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for a period of six months for manufacturing of biodegradable carry bags @ 1.5 TPD using corn granules @ 1.5 TPD with usual conditions and special conditions that:- </p>
<p>1) The industry will obtain permission / registration from CPCB within 2 months.</p>
<p>2) The industry will not manufacture any single use plastic in compliance to MoEFCC and CPCB's order regarding ban on single use plastic items w.e.f 01.07.2022</p>
<p>3) The industry shall not manufacture, stock, distribute, recycle and sell the plastic carry bags.</p>
<p>4) The industry shall comply with the provisions of notification no. 5/18/2016-4Ig4/692717/1 dated 18.02.2016 issued by the Department of Local Government, Govt. of Punjab and notification no. SO. 438/P.A9/1994/S30/2016 dated 29.03.2016 issued by the Department of Rural Development & Panchayat, Govt. of Punjab in letter & spirit.</p>
<p>Competency: Worthy Member Secretary as hearing was given to the industry on 03.11.2022.</p> |
