<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Kindly peruse the agenda note and recommendation given by RO It is intimated that the industry has applied the renewal CTO under Water Act,1974 for the manufacturing of Compounded Rubber @ 12000 Kgs/day, Oil Seals @ 1000000 Numbers/Day. Ro has reported that the industry is recycling the treated trade effluent after treatment with ETP followed by ROs with MEE (RO permeate) in the process section and the treated domestic effluent is discharged onto land for irrigation of green area within premises and remains in the plantation area developed as per Karnal Technology measuring 1.8 acres. During the visit, vegetative growth/ wild grass was observed throughout the plantation area developed as per Karnal Technology and the representative of the industry was advised to maintain the plantation area for proper utilization/ distribution of the treated effluent. RO has also reported that the industry is complying with the conditions of consent granted to it under the Water Act, of 1974.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As per the above the performance of wastewater treatment installed by the industry has been within the limit prescribed by the Board. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">May if approved, consent to operate under the Water Act, of 1974 be further extended up to 31.03.2025 with the special conditions as mentioned in the previous CTO granted to it. A special condition may be imposed that the industry shall obtain the necessary clearance for the abstraction of groundwater from the Punjab Water Regulation & Development Authority (PWRDA).</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">EE, RO may also be requested to monitor the industry as per protocol framed by the Board to verify the compliance with environmental law, verify the mode of disposal, and send the report along with recommendations.</span></p>
