It is intimated that the industry has applied for renewal CTO under the Water Act,1974 for manufacturing of Decorative Paints @ 40000 KL/year and Performance Coatings @ 20000 KL/year using Aluminium Pigments @ 2026 Kg/Year, chemicals @ 141577 Kg/Year, Driers @ 181087 Kg/Year, Extenders @ 3293906 Kg/Year, Nitrocellulose @ 237013 Kg/Year, Resins @ 4956593 Kg/Year, Solvents @ 5868299 Kg/Year, Water Based Latex @ 2847729 Kg/Year, Additives @ 373630 Kg/Year, Water Based Latex @ 444853 Kg/Year and Pigments @ 1118054 Kg/Year and generation of Trade Effluent @ 2.0 KLD to be treated in ETP & disposal into onto land for plantation/irrigation on 10 acres and Domestic Effluent @ 16.0 KLD into MC sewer. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">RO has reported that the industry is complying with the hearing decision, the industry is complying with the provision of the Water Act,1974 and the industry is complying with the SOP of SRP prescribed by CPCB.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">May if approved CTO under Water Act,1974 be further renewed up to 31/3/25 with special conditions as proposed by EE, RO. A special condition may be proposed that the industry shall obtain the necessary clearance for the abstraction of groundwater from the Punjab Water Regulation & Development Authority (PWRDA).</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">EE, RO may also be requested to monitor the industry as per protocol framed by the Board to verify compliance with environmental law and send the report along with recommendations.</span></p>
