The service station was earlier granted Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for name M/s Stan Autos Pvt. Ltd., which was valid upto 31.12.2021. The same has been permanently closed and the service station is currently operating with name and style of M/s Lovely Autos.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">Now, the service station has applied for fresh Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for Servicing and washing of cars @ 20 numbers/day same as for the Consent granted to the earlier unit. The service station has deposited the consent fees of Rs. 30,600/- [in a single transaction for both Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981] vide R. No. N080232380766482 dated 21.03.2023 against the fixed assets of Rs. 20.42 lacs as per the CA certificate, which are adequate upto 30.11.2026 (after deducting NOC and late penalty fee). The service station has submitted CLU certificate of earlier unit M/s Stan Autos regarding area classification clearing that the above site falls under commercial mix land zone. (copy attached). The service station has also submitted the lease agreement that the lessor representing the lawful possession of the property of addressed workshop and granting lessee for the purpose of automobile workshop.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">To verify the contents of the application submitted by the service station, the same was visited by this office on 28.03.2023 and it was observed as under: </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">1. The service station was in operation, during visit and is engaged in servicing and washing of the vehicles.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">2. The service station has installed ETP for the treatment of trade effluent generated from washing section having components inlet &gt; oil &amp; grease trap &gt; collection tank &gt; Dozing cum flocculation tank &gt; tube settler &gt; MGF &gt; outlet and the entire treated effluent is discharged onto land for plantation alongside the boundary wall and in adjoining owned plot. The domestic effluent is also discharged onto land for plantation after treatment through septic tank.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">3. The ETP was in operation during visit and the effluent sample was collected from inlet and final outlet from the ETP and sent to Zonal Lab, Jalandhar for analysis. As per the analysis report received, the parameters are within permissible limits as per Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, in Schedule-l for Automobile Service Stations prescribed by the Board (analysis report attached). </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">4. The service station has installed water meter at outlet of ETP showing reading as 908.2 KL.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">6. The service station has provided one paint booth with filters as APCD. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">7. The service station has installed one no. D.G. Set of capacity 62 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">The service station is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">Keeping in view of above it is recommended that the Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2026 with suitable and special conditions.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif;">Competency: The Senior Environmental Engineer</span></strong></p>
