<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Raavi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">PWRDA vide notification dated 27.01.2023 (attached herewith) has exempted units from obtaining any permission of the authority, which are extracting not more than 300 cubic meters of ground water per month.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Raavi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">In the subject cited case, the industry has mentioned ground water extraction @ 36 KLD. Considering 25 working days per month, ground water extraction will be 900 KL/month, which is more than 300 KL/month. It has not obtained permission from PWRDA.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Raavi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">In view of the above, it is recommended that the industry may be issued show cause notice before refusal of 'Consent to Operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.</span></p> |
