The industry has increased production @ 11 % from previously granted CTOs. </span></p>

The outlet of these three STPs is common and treated effluent samples were collected during the visit.</span></p>

Also, the previous CTO application was granted with condition that the industry will apply for CTO of the hostel separately with a dedicated plantation area.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 35.45pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">In view of above, show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 has been issued to industry with hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on 25.04.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-cluster; text-indent: 35.45pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Sh. V.K. Verma, </span>Liaison Officer<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"> of the industry attended the hearing and </span><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">submitted written reply which was taken on record. He submitted that t</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">he STP was under mechanical fault. After checking and rectification, the STP was checked on daily basis and found working normal, the effluent samples were asked and again re-collected by PBTI, Mohali on dated 17.03.2023 and the sample results were found well within the prescribed norms. He further submitted that they have already applied for separate consent to operate for Girls Hostel on 27.03.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-cluster; text-indent: 35.45pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">He further requested to withdraw the show cause notice and to grant consent to the industry.</span></p>
