PPCB/SEE(HQ-2)/2020/15176-78 dated 9/7/2020 for mechanism/guidelines for control of pollution and enforcement of environmental norms at individual establishments and the area/clusters of restaurants/hotels/motels/banquets etc.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The project proponent was issue notice vide letter no. 5046 dated 17/11/2022 for apply renewal consent to operate under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Now, the project proponent has applied for renewal &lsquo;Consent to Operate&rsquo; under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, with same capacity alongwith requisite documents and fees.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The project proponent has submitted CA certificate with the value of fixed assets of Rs. 99.00 Crore on 19/03/2023, which is remain same. As per the record, earlier the fee deposited by industry is adequate upto 30.09.2024 under both the Acts. The project proponent has now deposited Rs. 52,800 /- vides online R no. 136345643 dated 28/02/2023 as late fees under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs.</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"> </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">52,800/- vide online R. no. 842123051 dated 28/02/2023 as late fees under the Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 30.09.2024 under both the Acts and same is adjusted as penalty fees for 8-9 months.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The effluent sample of ETP &amp; STP was collected on 10/04/2023 by this office and sent to Board&rsquo;s laboratory for analysis. HSD fired boilers of capacity 750 kg/hr provided with a common stack of adequate height. The hotel has provided hood followed by stack of adequate height for channelizing the emissions generated from the kitchen. The STP consists of collection cum equalization tank, 02 SBR tank, MGF, UV filter and UF. The EMF provided at the final outlet and reading was noted as 753.22 m3. The industry has not provided any water meter in the line of treated effluent leading to flushing, gardening and cooling tower till date. The industry has provided over flowing line in the collection cum equalization tank, where from water over flowing water is collected in sump tank and there are 02 lines are provided 01 for recirculation into collection tank and remaining for by-pass the untreated effluent. The representative of the industry advised to plug the same immediately. Photographs is enclosed herewith.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 1.25in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">7.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has installed separate ETP to treated waste generated from laundary. The industry has installed EMF on feed line 2922.38 m3.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 1.25in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">8.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The hotel has installed 01 WTP adjoining ETP/STP area.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 1.25in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; background: white;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The hotel has installed 02 DG set of capacity 500 KVA; both are equipped with canopy and stack of adequate height.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.25in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">It is further submitted that the project proponent has failed to comply with the conditions of the previous consent granted to it under Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, which is as under:</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: 1.25in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">&ldquo;The Project Proponent will maintain record of consumption of water in domestic purpose and in laundry activities. The Project Proponent will provide water meter over the treated waste-water lines used for flushing and plantation and keep record.
