CTE/Fresh/KPR/2022/19134159 dated 04.07.2022 valid upto 30.07.2023 for manufacturing of Raw Rice @ 3.3 TPH, Rice Bran @ 0.25 TPH, Rice Husk @ 0.9 TPH using paddy @ 5 TPH as raw material.</h1> <h1 style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0cm 36.0pt .0001pt 49.65pt;">·         Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Raw Rice @ 3.3 TPH, Rice Bran @ 0.25 TPH, Rice Husk @ 0.9 TPH using paddy @ 5 TPH as raw material..</h1> <h1 style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0cm 36.0pt .0001pt 49.65pt;">·         The industry has deposited Rs. 50,400/- vide UTR/Reference No. SDL130165742 dated 12.05.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 50,400/- vide UTR/Reference No. SDL130166108 dated 12.05.2023 under Air Act, 1981, which are adequate upto 30.06.2028.</h1> <h1 style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0cm 36.0pt .0001pt 49.65pt;">·         The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 18.05.2023 and it was observed that: -</h1> 1.    The industry was in operation during the visit 2.    The unit is engaged with Raw Rice @ 3.3 TPH, Rice Bran @ 0.25 TPH, Rice Husk @ 0.9 TPH using paddy @ 5 TPH as raw material. 3.    The industry has installed 1 no. of shelling section and 2 Nos. of dryer section (Paddy Pre-cleaner) each attached with cyclone as APCD. 4.    The rice sheller has provided the paved road for the movement of the vehicle used for the transportation of the rice & rice husk. 5.    The rice sheller has provided brick wall of length more than 70 feet and is more than 35 feet on each side of the discharge point. The height of wall is more than 12 feet and there is distance of approx. 50 feet between wall and discharge point. The industry is in process of providing metal sheets upto height of 15 feet in front of discharge point. 6.    The rice sheller was advised that whenever height of rice husk is 3' or more, the industry shall cover the heap of husk with HDPE warp knitted fabric completely, except the area near the discharge pipe. 7.    No trade effluent is discharged by the industry only domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank. 8.    The rice sheller is complying with the conditions of NOC/CTE granted to it. Recommendations: - In view of above it is recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2028 with usual conditions and special conditions that the rice sheller shall comply with the new code of practice prescribed by Punjab Govt. Department of Science, Technology and Environment vide order no. 932 dated 15.10.2013. (Competency Environmental Engineer)
