<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">The directions were issued to the PSPCL for disconnection of the electric connection u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. 8983-84 dated 20.12.2021.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">The electric connection to the industry was lastly restored upto 12.03.2023 by issuing directions to the PSPCL u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide letter no. 5767-68 dated 13.09.2022. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">The Regional Office has recommended for permanent restoration of the electric connection. Thereafter, the industry was also afforded an opportunity of personal hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-2, Ludhiana on 25.04.2023, wherein following decisions were taken: </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The matter may be referred to the Head Office for a policy decision to deal such cases so that consent cases may be decided.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">2. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">Meanwhile, this office may be allowed to grant consent to such units with rider to such plywood / mica / veneer industries by using readymade glue only till the Board allow to use glue kettles. Glue kettles of such industries be allowed to seal.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">In other similar matters i.e. M/s Khurana Agro Industries and M/s Hero Foods, the consents have been approved to be granted for a period of six months with restoration of electric connections also for six months. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">As such, in this case it is proposed as under:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 be renewed for a period of six months.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">2. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">PSPCL authorities be issued directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for restoration of electric connection upto 6 months. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">3. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The matter is being referred to Head Office for taking a policy decision in the matter on a separate file in a similar case. </span></p>
