File Note: <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Reply to the observations is as under:</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Operate' under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no: CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2020/12598826 dated 29.05.2020, for manufacturing of hosiery garments (sweaters/ t-shirts) @ 1000 Numbers/Day alongwith generation of trade effluent @ 4.0 KLD for discharge into sewer after treatment through ETP. Also in present application, the industry has applied for renewal of &lsquo;Consent to Operate&rsquo; under the Water Act, 1974 i.e. for manufacturing of<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>hosiery garments (sweaters/ t-shirts) @ 1000 Numbers/Day alongwith generation of trade effluent @ 4.0 KLD for discharge into sewer after treatment through ETP and the application is also processed for discharge of treated trade effluent into sewer. However, in visit detail plantation area has been mentioned inadvertently. The industry discharges its treated effluent into sewer line. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 99.25pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Keeping the above in view and note dated 14.07.2023, it is recommended that the 'Consent to Operate' under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted for period upto 31.08.2023 for manufacturing of<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>hosiery garments (sweaters/ t-shirts) @ 1000 Numbers/Day alongwith generation of trade effluent @ 4.0 KLD for discharge into sewer after treatment through ETP, subject to conditions mentioned therein alongwith special condition that the industry shall shift its unit from present location to designated area.</span></p>
